Toss : Velocity won the toss and have opted to bat first

Deepti Sharma - She is arguably the best Woman all-rounder India has ever produced. Her numbers say 169 runs scored and 12 wickets in just 11 matches this year. As context, when these two teams played last year, she grabbed 4 wickets and also scored 16 runs with the bat.

Harleen Deol - She had a great Women’s T20 challenge last season (2019) scoring 79 runs and grabbing a wickets in 2 matches. In fact, it was against Trailblazers last season in which she scored 43 runs and also took a wicket.

Sune Luus - She produced a performance of 37 (from just 21 balls) last night and was also the player of the match. This year in all 10 T20 matches that she has played, she has scored 173 runs and taken 10 wickets.

Ekta Bisht - With figures of 3/22 in the first match this series, Ekta Bisht turned out to be a surprise package. Stat alert: The last time she played against Trailblazers (in 2019) she had picked up 2/13.

Sophie Ecclestone - Ecclestone has had a great year as far as T20Is are considered picking up 19 wickets in just 13 matches. Also in the Women's T20 challenge last year, she picked up 2 wickets in as many matches.

Leigh Kasperek - In 9 T20 matches that she has played this year, she has taken 13 wickets. She produced a performance of 2/23 last night against Supernovas.

Danni Wyatt - She might have scored a duck last night but she is much greater a player than that as her international numbers suggest. Last season when she played against the Trailblazers she scored 46 from 35 balls (SR of 131) and also was the player of the match.

Shafali Verma - The 16 year old sensation is too good a player to not have in your fantasy team. She scored 163 runs (in 5 matches) at an astounding SR of 158 in the recent Women’s T20 World CUp earlier this year. She showed glimpses last night as well scoring 17 from just 11 balls.

Smriti Mandhana - In the Women’s T20 challenge (2018 and 2019), Mandhana has scored 114 runs in just 3 matches striking at 133. Her record in T20 matches this year: 265 runs in 9 matches at SR of 135.

Preview

Mithali Raj's Velocity meet Smriti Mandhana's Trailblazers in match 2 of the Women's T20 Challenge in Sharjah. It is a day game and a massive challenge even more so for Velocity, given that they are playing a game just a day before, that too, in the evening. So hardly any recovery time.

The Trailblazers have some overseas names in England's Sophie Ecclestone, the no. 1-ranked T20I bowler, West Indian all-rounder Deandra Dottin, Bangladesh captain Salma Khatun, Indian fast bowler Jhulan Goswami and also Thailand's batter Nattakan Chantam.

The Velocity are fresh from a thrilling win over the champions, Supernovas and would be reasonably confident. It is relatively difficult to talk about the strengths and weaknesses of a team which is yet to play but the Trailblazers look really strong. Should be a cracking match but spare a thought for the players playing in the heat.
