Fantasy sports platform BLITZPOOLS, endorsed by Ishan Kishan, claims to have acquired 300,000 new users through its latest marketing campaign ahead of IPL 2021.
Fantasy gaming platform BLITZPOOLS, which was recently acquired by Canadian online and mobile gaming firm Interactive Games Technologies Inc, has witnessed massive growth in its user base after its latest marketing campaign.
The Canada-based firm, which is also called IGT.BET, bought a 51 per cent stake in LivePools and rebranded it to BLITZPOOLS last month.
Since the official launch on March 8, BLITZPOOLS claims to have acquired over 300,000 new players.
The fantasy sports firm opted for an influencer-led marketing campaign to reach new users. Bollywood stars, with a collective social media following of over 215 million, were chosen for promotional activities.
TV presenters Archana Vijaya and Erika Packard, actresses Urvashi Rautela, Mouni Roy, Amyra Dastur, Bruna Abdullah, Elnaaz Norouzi and Natasa Stankovic were part of the social media campaign.
The founders of the fantasy sports platform, Vickram Assomull and Gaurav Assomull believe that the industry is at a nascent stage in India and has the potential to grow exponentially.
“The changing face of the Indian economy indicates favourable conditions for the rapid expansion of the fantasy gaming sector. We personally think that we have just scratched the surface and we are at the cusp of unlocking newer avenues to expand our presence in the skill-based fantasy sports sector,” reckon the Assomull brothers.
Earlier, BLITZPOOLS appointed Indian cricketers Ishan Kishan, Rahul Chahar, Shreyas Gopal and Wriddhiman Saha, as its brand ambassadors.
The fantasy sports firm is planning to leverage the popularity of the cricketer stars in the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 season.
Ishan Kishan and Rahul Chahar will represent the Mumbai Indians in the upcoming IPL 2021, while Shreyas Gopal and Wriddhiman Saha will play for Rajasthan Royals and Sunrisers Hyderabad, respectively.
Launched in 2018, BLITZPOOLS is headquartered in Mumbai and claims to have a user base of around 1.5 million.
BLITZPOOLS is aiming to reach five million users by the end of 2021 and 10 million by the next year.
