Mobile Premier League launches premium subscription service MPL VIP

Indian mobile gaming platform Mobile Premier League (MPL) has launched a premium subscription-based service called MPL VIP for its users.

The eSports and fantasy gaming firm is offering a host of special benefits and features for its premium subscribers through this new programme.

For VIP gamers participating in paid contests, winners will get two per cent extra winnings every time they win a contest or a tournament, along with exclusive events on MPL for the premium users.

“With over seven crore gamers on MPL in India, we felt it was the right time to introduce a subscription-based service for those who want to maximise their experience on the MPL platform,” said Naman Jhawar, senior vice president, Strategy and Operations, MPL.

The premium users will get VIP Tickets worth INR five every day, amounting to INR 150 every month, which can be used to participate in paid contests and tournaments on the platform.

The MPL VIP subscription can be purchased on the app at an inaugural price of INR 49 for 60 days, post which gamers who are subscribed will be charged INR 99 for 30 days.

They can, however, cancel the subscription at any time.

Founded in 2018 by Sai Srinivas and Shubh Malhotra, the startup claims that the new offer has generated a remarkable response from its users.

“The response we have seen so far in terms of gamers’ interest and the value that this programme has generated has been very encouraging. We plan to offer more benefits for our VIP subscribers in the days to come,” Jhawar added.

One of the largest mobile gaming platforms of India, MPL has more than 60 games in its roster, including fantasy sports, rummy, chess, quiz, fruit chop, pool and carrom.

MPL is currently endorsed by Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli and its clothing vertical, MPL Sports, is the official kit sponsor of Team India.
